No kidding, and it's leading to this "already reached a deal" BS. People don't understand that if they reach a deal before we vote anything out - we win.

Couldn't the contract be "interpretted" via an MOU, that would somehow push the deal through without a requirement of a vote from membership? My other question is, do all L.O.A.s require a full membership vote, or do the elected reps have the final say? I was under the impression that this isn't always the case.

No, any change to the scope clause in our contract would require a pilot vote. Period.

Actually, I recall during the video conference call, Bill said the MEC could change scope without a vote from the pilot group. However, he said the MEC agreed that if scope were to be changed, it would have to go to the pilot group for vote. I can't imagine them reversing there stance on this.

Maybe it's me, but why negotiate any scope relief with a company that doesn't own you? They may make the purchase without scope relief, it's just their own statement that they wouldn't go forward without scope relief. Just because the Union and XJT doesn't come to an agreement on the contract doesn't mean SKYW wouldn't make the purchase and ignore that section prompting a prolonged legal/arbitration battle.
