Would you dress up to go to McDonalds? Me either. Problem is, when people dressed up, it was considered a luxury and you were treated a MILLIONs times better than you are now. The airlines have become just another form of transportation....sort of like Greyhound. Service is seriously lacking and it would be hard to convince someone to dress up for it. Go back to they way things were...and you will see more people showing up like they were going to church and not some NASCAR race. But then prices would have to go back up to and what airline manager knows those economics?

Plus...who wants to sit on the airplane for three or four hours in EWR in a suit?

So back to SWA hiring. Does anyone have an estimate of how many XJT captains are in the pool at SWA? I have spoken with a few lately that just got class dates.

Congrats to you all... it's good to see them pulling the plug on that pilot pool.

Can some one pm me the contact list of former xjt'ers there? Or have contact info for Mike Mavis or Ben Hausmann?

Thanks!

Just to give you and idea about the kind of company SWA is. I've been in the pool for about 1 yr. I have received an email for Thanksgiving with a pic attached of the top people dressed up for the holiday. My Bday was in Nov. and I received a regular Bday card with like 7 signatures and happy bday wishes from those in Flight Ops Recruitment. I just had some shoulder surgery and had to pass up 2 classes and I just received a get well card with signatures and get will wishes from the people in Flight Ops Recruitment.

It's a great feeling to only be a "poolie" and get these kind of nice deeds prior to being an employee.

I have to say I'm impressed already and I haven't even started yet!
