Just curious, is that because a certain amount is tax-free or because the pay rate is higher? Good luck over there, that is an adventure for sure.

Thanks for the question. It is because it is tax free. I'll explain later (kind of busy today) but basically in the neighborhood of $12,000/mo tax free and that's for working 9 months a year. If you want to stay and work during your vacation month, they pay double base pay, so total works out to around $20k for that month. If you don't work on your vacation month, you still receive the base pay of about $9500. It's good money. I base this off of CAL 777 Captain topping out at $189 with a 72 hour guarantee and paying 30 or 35% tax.

Please don't take this as boastful...I don't mean it that way. I think one person was right in saying that they pay you that because you have to relocate yourself and your family to Kuwait City, Kuwait.

Enjoy the job, and keep us posted from time to time.

Wow, I'm senior to somebody?!? It sure hasn't felt like it these last 13 months on reserve...but whatever you say. J/k. Thanks for the good wishes.

Exactly. I kept thinking, "if I don't do this, I'm going to kick my own *** someday when I'm too old to do it."

Brian! Sorry I couldn't help you there on seniority...not that you need it out there with mainline XJT. Don't remind me of Mr. YouKnowWho. That was not fun. See you later, man... P.S. - When are you going to stop making babies with that wife of yours? Enough already. Just joking.

Hey Paul. Sorry I couldn't come help out at CRG a few months back. I felt bad for not being able to, but it just wasn't good timing for me. Thanks for the offer and I'll let you know how it goes. How's charter going for you?

Jeremy,
Now if you can get XJT to open an Orlando base like your last job did, now that would be perfect. Thanks for the advice and help at the last job we had together when I came in knowing nothing about the system there. Take care.

Hey Jon,
You get your own reply post...do you feel special? Well, don't. J/k. Here's what I know about the schedule...right now it is 3 months on, 1 month off (they fly you home on your off months) and they are trying to go to 2 months on and 1 month off. I'll believe that when I see it. The months that you're working, it's only 8-10 days off, but the rest requirements and off-duty periods are better there than here. If you are on duty for 14 hours, you have to have 14 hours off duty before you can fly again, for example. 900 hours a year max, etc. Trips range from 4 day trips down to day turns.
They pay housing in a long-stay hotel called the "Royal Mirage." It's one of those hotel rooms with a kitchen, living room, etc.
They fly the legacies all over the world. They fly a lot to Seattle, Toronto, Singapore, Dubai, Russia, Europe, and the owner likes to go to the Maldive Islands out in the Indian Ocean. It should be interesting, at least.
The FO's are mostly great, although there is 1 FO that I already know of...so you know that isn't good. If people know your name before they even are working there...maybe that isn't such a good thing.
I'm just glad I'm leaving, Jon, because you and I CAN NOT fly together any more. We have too much fun and forget to do important, flight related tasks like (well, you know what). You just shouldn't be able to have that much fun at work, you know? Thanks for the good times. Write if you want more info. atpcfi@hotmail.com

I never flew with you, and I don't know who you are, but please check back on the crackpipe once in a while -- I'm sure some of us will come up with some questions about this place! Sounds like it could be a great opportunity for those willing to shakeup their lifestyle a bit.
