CAL just got the numbers for the adjustment bid. Should hear what CAL is thinking within a couple of weeks.

As far as I have been told, there is nothing for sure. but I am planning on first year pay at least. I wouldn't imagine our SA status will change...if it did, all the newhires at XJT from last year would bump us off of flights, and I don't think they will allow that. I have sent a few emails and all I have gotten in response is "we are in negotiations about that..."
It would be nice to have some info, but I certainly don't want them rushing just to get us some preliminary info...

there are about 220 vacancies, so that gets the 112, and then into the pigs. Vacancies were IAH 737, GUM 737, EWR 737 and 756.

assuming they don't decide to hire off the street first - before the PIGs. Or ratio etc...

I just read the "special update" for 2/16/05. I'm pretty much as clueless now as I was before reading it. My question is, how could CAL consider blending us in with a ratio of "off the street" hires? We ARE off the street hires! How about this - you can bring us over in a ratio as long as we get seniority numbers ahead of anyone who is non-express off the street. And the second one non-express off the street pilot starts training at CAL, one express PIG starts building seniority.
And why is there a consideration for how many pilots XJT can lose every month? It's a different airline, remember? If I get hired off the street by Southwest are they going to call XJT and make sure they can afford to lose me? I don't think so!
Okay, I'm done venting - time to get back to not working.

All the 112 are supposed to be over there by May, so if Cal wants to blend the pigs they better start hiring. Do they even have a recruiting department, they haven't hired for a long time?

I don't know about flight ops but I have a friend who is interviewing (today) CAL FA's. They are looking to hire 500 this year.
