She was my fiance/companion when we took the trip. Apparently, we're taxed on the "value" of flights taken by companions (spouse, kids, parents, and self are exempt) - So I'd been paying 37% tax on the "value" of every flight she'd taken while she was my companion. At least thats what the pass travel people told me. I'm so glad I knew that at the time. it's more like a buddy pass than a companion. $200 was the value of the trip, so it was $80 in tax plus the normal RT fees.
