I jumpseat across the pond regularly and it really is no big deal. Just present yourself to the gate agent as you would domestically, fill out the same form and then wander down the jetway to beg for passage. The tricky part can be getting back as the foreign gate agents/ticket counter people seem to get stuck with the procedure.
If your going to LGW you should be ok. I have the cal people well trained there now! :lol: As for American out of LHR, it`s a little messed up as they say you can`t but after some persuasion they`ll let you. I`d personally avoid it if you can.
Sometimes they`ll try looking you up in the CASS system but it`ll deny you because XJT isn`t in the system. If riding CAL, just have them bring up your JA profile and that`ll smooth things over.
