It also had a lot to do with the female pilot freaking out in mid flight and not doing what was needed at the time. A nice little 60-90 degree bank would have killed enought lift to bring the nose down and just repeat the cycle until the problem was solved. A captain on an american 767 a few years back had the same thing happen and since he had previous aerobatic experience, and also thought logically instead of "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH I'm gonn die!!!" emotional and irrational thinking that has no room in aviation, every one on that flight lived. They all puked on each other as a result of the wing overs in the massive bird.
