I think that this is a good possibility if SkyWest really wants to get their hands on XJT. If you look at past situations that ended up like this it seems to always work out in favor of the purchasing airline. (USAir/AmWest-TWA/AA) SkyWest shouldn't have much of a problem proving that XJT would have been out of business if they didn't come in and save the company thus all the pilots would have been on the bottom of the list or without jobs anyway.

To me it looks like the best option would be to agree to the SkyWest terms and let the sale go through. From what I can see either way the same number of new pilots will go.
Lets say XJT magically is able to stay in business as an independent company, to make this happen branded will still have to go and with it the pilots. This is the same amount of pilots gone if you agree to the SkyWest deal. BUT now you will also loose more pilots when CO pulls the next 51 and the rest will loose their jobs when CO is done using XJT in 2012 (2012 right??)

Now if the SkyWest deal goes through of course the most Jr pilots are gone but that would have happened anyways. The pilots that are left know that for the next 10yrs they will have a 205 plane CPA with CO.

Sounds like an easy choice to me!
Yeah, an easy choice for you. Let's make a few things clear: 1)An easy choice for you, because you DON'T WORK HERE! 2)An easy choice for you, because you are not a pilot!

I'm curious as to why you constantly come on here and spew your knowledge of various things, when in actuality, you were probably nothing more than a paper pusher while at this company. Believe it or not, we (the pilots here) are actually a fairly intelligent bunch who can reason for ourselves. We were able to make it here without your infinite knowledge, and I can assure you we will continue to do so!

While I am fairly safe in terms of not getting furloughed because of this deal (at least initially), this deal flat out sucks for us. Those are our airplanes...there is absolutely no reason we should, under present conditions, give up any of our scope to allow SkyWest scumbags to fly our airplanes. I'll wait to allow the union time to consider everything, but I can tell you I am a NO vote. Our planes=our pilots. They want that flying? Let them find their own d@mn airplanes. Ask Kitty how easy it was for them to find planes!
