to summarize, we have about 5 atheists and a precession of theists. The way I read it, each theist presented his reasons for belief, and the atheists shot them down consistently to where the only one left was "cause the bible says so." the theist then goes on to say that he has the right to belive no matter what the atheists say (which is absolutely true) but goes just short of saying "even though I really can't prove god exists." then the theist stops posting and a new one pops up. no theist has stayed here long enough to answer the doubts raised by the atheists about any PROOF of god's existence, and the reliability of the bible. the atheist have asked questions that are unaswered, such as - is there any more evidence that god exists than evidence that santa claus exists?
- if christianity is all about love thy neighbor and such, why are atheists treated worse than a bleeding rat in a tampon factory?
- is there anything in the physical world that can't happen without god?
we also had a short discussion about creationism and about abortion. we all agree about abortion - it's bad and shouldn't happen. but we disagree about whether the govt. has the right to control it. and surprisingly we had little luck trying to talk sense into the couple of guys who swear by creationism and reject evolution.
I can tell you that personally I'm sincerely looking for any shred of proof or evidence god exists, because I really need to understand how the majority of the population in the world believes it. it's stupifying! so far in 100 pages, "I still haven't found what I'm looking for."
(maybe that's what U2 was singing about... it's a gospel song originally)

Just want to touch on your last paragraph...
I have been thinking about what you have stated... "I am looking for any shred of proof." For some reason I think you are actually sincerely looking..the fact is I'm not sure your going to find it on here...
1. because its hard to single it down to a fact....
a. fact.. their is a Bible....
1. this will not stand with yalls argument that "the Bible was written buy
man.. and the Bible does not prove anything... and all of this stuff
can go on and on and on....
2. your a smart guy and probably know the Bible better than i do...as well as physics, English, cars..
but to me it all boils down to this.... and like i have said you know more about this than i do... so here is the way that I break it down. If " God" wanted us to KNOW he existed of course he would absolutely PHYSICALLY present himself in this present time to gave us all more facts.. absolute proof... Sounds simple...and obvious... But he does not work that way. For the same reason that he put the bad tree in the garden. To prove our love to him. He gave us free will. If God wanted to make us hand puppets and program us he would have. But then we would't have to have faith..Hebrews 11 faith is the substance of things hoped for in the evidents of things not seen...that is how the Bible spells it out . or "sticking our head in the sand" you could say.. I guess that is why I personally cannot come up with a fact that will stand up to your argument..would this stand up in court i dont know ask OJ..some crazier things have happened. .. Besides the fact that we have an earth and the things in this earth really on laws, and instincts. And how co dependent things are with one another... and i'm sure i am boring you with all this but that is my spill.... and im sure yall will have some way to destroy this but just had to get it off my chest.. I couldn't sleep until i did.
"I am looking for any shred of proof." so what i guess God, to me.... put here as proof earth, trees, people, bees, flowers, water, air,..instincts, just for example pollination of trees and flowers if no bees no existence of these things...
So the fact that your looking for im not sure you will find.. I do pray for science to come up with more answers....for yalls sake...
which leads me to a question.. do you think modern science points more to a intelligent designer... or to evolution or "random chance"
have a good one
