Yes, they do upgrade elites on the south america flights, that much I found out. My question is, if coach is oversold (even if there are no upgrade elites) will they give the oversold coach pax a first class seat? Several of the flights have seats in first, but are oversold in coach. Would I still be able to get on? Also, there is no more ZED/ID90 with American I came to find out. Besides that won't help my travel companion either way.
